The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Bangladesh is seeking applications for Administrative Assistant (Temporary Appointment) position available for eleven months in the Nutrition Section of its Dhaka office.

Major duties and responsibilities:

<ul>
<li>Provides administrative support services to the 
Section Chief and other staff members. Arranges appointments, meetings,
 some involving high-ranking officials, and takes minutes and/or notes 
at meetings. Maintains Section calendar, receiving visitors, undertakes
 travel management including hotel reservations, prepares travel orders
 and assembles information pertinent to the purpose of travel.</li>
<li>Searches and selects information and records in 
specified format, or on the basis of general instructions for use by 
others in preparing reports, correspondence, technical papers, project 
or programme plans and general reference documents.</li>
<li>Drafts correspondence, memoranda and reports via 
oral instructions, previous correspondence or other available 
information sources, in accordance with standard office procedures. 
Maintains general office files.</li>
<li>Coordinates with Supply and Procurement Section and
 makes arrangement for shipment and receipt of office and project 
supplies and equipment including customs clearance, etc. Coordinates 
with Admin Section and assists staff members and their dependents by 
processing requests for visas and other necessary personnel-related 
documents.</li>
<li>Maintains, updates and transmits inventory records of non-expendable equipment.</li>
<li>Responds to queries relating to the area of responsibility</li>
<li>Performs other duties, as required </li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements: 
 Completion of secondary education supplemented by technical or university courses in the relevant field

Work experience: 
 Five years relevant work experience including UN and/or international organizations 
 Language requirements: Fluency in written and spoken English and very good working knowledge of Bangla

Remuneration: 
 Remuneration is at GS-5 level of United Nations local salary scale
